Today I’m sharing a very funny post by one of my favorite authors, Dave Barry. I hope you will share this laugh with me.

“Question: In the song, β€œI Shot the Sheriff,” how come the singer keeps loudly announcing that he shot the sheriff, but he did NOT shoot the deputy? Is he in some weird municipality where it’s a serious criminal offense to shoot a deputy, but if you shoot the actual sheriff, hey, no problem?

Answer: Your question is very important to us.”

LOL! For those of us who are old enough to remember this song, we can’t help but smile. πŸ™‚

  1. The sheriff and the deputy were both shot probably. He is just saying he only shot the sheriff. Someone else shot the deputy. So don’t blame him.

  2. I loved Dave Berry! I couldn’t wait to read his column every Sunday. The other person that I loved to read was Erma Bombeck. As for my favorite comedian, it was George Carlin.

Thank you for making smile remembering these people!
