Today is a fun post because it’s National Name Your Car Day!

Do you remember “Herbie” the Love Bug? Or “Lightning McQueen from Cars? These are a few of the famous car names that many people are familiar with.

How many hours a day do you spend in your car? Do you have a name for your car?

Please share your comments. One random lucky winner will be chosen to receive a digital copy of A Snowy White Christmas, my sweet Christmas romance novella.

  1. Our present car does not have enough personality to warrant a name.

My sister used to have an old VW Bug that she called Molly. Molly was temperamental to say the least.

  2. Hum… usually I name my cars. My first was named bluey, the next was the silver bullet – a vw diesel that couldn’t get out of it’s own way but was great in the snow, Mr Intrepid who I still have and love after 16 years, and now I drive a big ol’ GMC AstroVan who I didn’t name yet. I’ll have to get on that. Maybe crash because I was run into yesterday on the highway?

    1. Yikes! Hope you’re OK after the crash, Gina. I love the names of your cars. Perhaps “Crash” is a good name for your GMC? 🙁

      1. I was a little shaken up. The crash sounded worse than it was. My van took the hit very well. The other driver said she was up all night and fell asleep at the wheel. I think mostly it ruined my running board on the drivers side and the rest is cosmetic. Maybe I should name it tank because I do feel safe in it.

  3. We have had a few Bertha’s and a few Susie’s, we now drive a Batman/Superman edition all black Renegade so I call him.. Bat of coarse 🙂

  4. No he doesnt . I thought of was a guy thing. But i see i am wrong?? Well think of a name and thats fine???

    1. Nacho is such a good name for your orange Dodge! The name of your gray sedan might depend on whether the car is “male” or “female”! 🙂
Or perhaps, “Silver Bullet,” per another comment?

  5. Yes ma’am! My vans are named Betsy and Bertha. My hubby has a truck named Dakota. We both have passed down cars as well with names. My 88′ Mustang’s name is Ghost, her paint job matches the highways perfectly in the right light. My hubby’s 69′ 442 Oldsmobile is named Loraly. The car and one of our daughters have the same name, different spelling. Thanks Josie!!

  6. My car is affectionately known as Lou Lou. She is cranky with me because she needs her bath! I don’t spend a lot of hours per day in her but she needs some TLC!

  7. Thanks, everyone, for participating in National Name Your Car Day. All your comments are very much appreciated!
