Nothing is more precious to a Mom then spending quality time with her children. Why not celebrate Mother’s Day with a “high” tea?

First, let’s begin with a quality tea. Twinings is always a good choice, and British, so it’s all good. 🙂

Begin by deciding whether you’d prefer a loose leaf tea or a tea bag. Just remember that you’ll need a tea strainer for loose leaf tea.

Start with fresh water in your tea kettle and be sure it comes to a full boil. Place the tea bag in the cup, then add boiling water. Let tea steep for 2-5 minutes. If you add milk, remove the tea bag first. When brewing a pot of tea, the proper portion is one teabag or one teaspoon of loose tea per person, plus one additional bag.

Don’t forget to use a lovely tea set, complete with creamer and sugar.

But wait, there’s more…you can’t live on just tea!

Old fashioned and fun, these tea sandwiches complete a perfect get-together.

1. Tomato and cheese: Between two slices of white bread add sliced tomato, watercress, and cheddar cheese. Trim the crusts off the bread and cut into four pieces.

2. Ham, brie, and apple: Split a loaf of French bread. Spread with softened butter and Dijon mustard. Add deli ham, a sliced green apple, and brie. Cut into rectangles.
